About
Vanzago devotes his research, on the one hand, to the field of phenomenology, with particular attention to Husserl’s works, and to recent developments in French phenomenology, from Merleau-Ponty to contemporary authors. On the other hand, he carries on a research on the theme of an ontological conception of events and relations, in connection with A. N. Whitehead’s philosophy of process. His PhD dissertation was devoted to a comparison between Merleau-Ponty’s and Whitehead’s conceptions of temporality. At present he is working at a monograph on Husserl’s conception of temporality in its development, and at a monograph devoted to several phenomenological conceptions of nature. Vanzago’s research focuses on the themes of temporality, alterity, subjectivity, nature, event, relations. A relevant role plays in this perspective a confrontation between phenomenology and psychoanalysis.
